Students Share Winter Break Experiences
Last month, ten Harvard students participated in Harvard Forest's third annual Winter Break Week. Highlights from the week are now available on a student-created Winter Break webpage, featuring student sketches, photography, and writings inspired by daily field activities.
The Winter Break program, called "Reading and Conserving New England: Interdisciplinary Insights into a Landscape's Past, Present, and Future," is driven by hands-on workshops led by a variety of Harvard researchers and regional artists. Topics included long-term ecological research, natural history, botanical illustration, creative writing, digital video/photography, and landscape design.
Harvard Forest's Winter Break Week is organized by David Foster and Clarisse Hart, and made possible by generous funds from the Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Applications for the 2014 program will be accepted in December 2013.
