Preface

  1. Page xviii, paragraph 2, lines 6-7, should read "An Introduction to Population Ecology", not "An Introduction to Population Biology". This error was in the First Edition, too (p. xv), yet was only picked up in 2021! (Thanks to DC (Charles) Williams)

Chapter 1

  1. Page 17, caption to Table 1.2, line 3, should read "resistant to herbivorous caterpillars occur with probability P(R), and milkweed populations that are susceptible", not vice-versa (Thanks to Fletcher Harrington, Harvard Extension School)
  2. Page 22, line 10. "P(F|S)" should read "P(S|F)", as the number of offspring in the second litter is conditional on the number of offsprint in the first litter, not vice-versa. (Thanks to John Benning, University of Minnesota)

  1. Page 125, line 21. The unknown population means are μfield and μforest, not λfield and λforest. (Thanks to Miguel Petrere, Jr.)
